Anders Sandberg

Dr Anders Sandberg, of the Future of Humanity Institute, talks about the Fermi question: if life is as easy as it seems, based on our experience on Earth, why is it that we don't see any aliens around? This is especially acute, given new research that shows that it is actually relatively easy for a star spanning civilization to cross the void between galaxies. In this talk, Dr Sandberg analyses possible answers to the Fermi question, discusses their implications, and demonstrates that philosophy can contribute usefully to these complicated questions.
